Inhalt
In this course, we first review the basic concepts of the memory hierarchy and data path units of single and multi-cycle processors. Then, we cover memory internals, emerging memory and storage hierarchies, and major functional units in advanced processors. We proceed with various discussions on advanced optimizations in the memory hierarchy. Next, we cover topics on instruction-level parallelism, data-level parallelism, and cache coherency. Finally, we conclude this course with several interesting topics on architectural support for operating systems.Termine
