Requirements / organisational issues

Course contents:

- Interpolation and Extrapolation

- Solution of linear systems (e.g. Gauss-Method, LU and Cholesky Decomposition)

- Numerical derivatives and integrals

- Solution of non-linear equations.

- Numerical solution of ordinary differential equations

- Some topics taken from

             - Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and applications

             - Numerical solution of partial differential equations (Elliptic, Parabolic, Hyperbolic, Navier-Stokes)

             - Iterative solutions of linear sytems

             - Data modeling

The code presented will be in Python but students are free to use their preferred language.

Recommended reading list

Latex notes will be provided.
