Various buses and streetcars run from Mainz main station to the campus.
We recommend taking the Stop Friedrich-von-Pfeiffer-Weg as you can reach the Institute of Computer Science on foot in a few minutes. The bus lines 54, 55, 56, 58 and 630 as well as the tram lines 51, 53 and 59 are recommended for this purpose.

Duesbergweg (Hauptpforte, Institut für Molekulare Biologie, Mathematik, Informatik, Medizin), allerdings vPerkehrt diese Linie nur in kurzen Zeitfenstern morgens und am Nachmittag.

The institute is located in the centre of the three cross-shaped buildings. A lift leads from the ground floor to the third and fifth floors.

You can land at two airports near Mainz by aeroplane:

Onward journey by bus: ORN bus from Terminal 3, runs every one to two hours continuously to Mainz main station, price: approx. 14 euros, journey time: approx. 1.5 hours.

Timetable connections from Frankfurt-Hahn Airport to Mainz

Onward journey by car: Federal road B 50 to motorway A 61, exit “Rheinböllen”, direction “Ludwigshafen”, to junction “Nahetal”, then take motorway A 60 direction “Mainz” to exit “Saarstraße”, journey time: approx. 1.5 hours.

The car parks closest to the institute are marked on the map linked here. The nearest off-campus car park is at the end of Dahlheimer Weg.

In order to park on the campus, you need an entry permit. Please let us know if you need such a permit – then we can register you at the main gate (Ackermannweg). The car park on Ackermannweg is closest to the Institute of Computer Science.

If you are coming from the west

(i.e. coming from Bonn/Cologne) follow the A60 motorway via the “Autobahn-Dreieck Mainz” in the direction of Darmstadt, leave the motorway at the “Mainz-Finthen” exit, follow the “Saarstraße/Innenstadt” sign straight on through the “Europaplatz” roundabout until you reach the “Universität” exit

If you are coming from the east

(i.e. from the direction of Würzburg/Darmstadt) follow the A60 motorway via the “Autobahn-Dreieck Rüsselsheim” or from the A63 via the “Autobahnkreuz Mainz” to the A60 to Bingen, leave the motorway at the “Mainz-Finthen” exit, follow the “Saarstraße/Innenstadt” sign straight on through the “Europaplatz” roundabout until you reach the “Universität” exit.

If you are coming from the north

(i.e. from Kassel) follow the A66 motorway and change at the “Schiersteiner Kreuz” to the A643 towards Mainz, follow the motorway to the “Autobahn-Dreieck Mainz”, where you change to the A60 towards Darmstadt. Leave the motorway at the “Mainz-Finthen” exit, follow the “Saarstraße/Innenstadt” sign straight ahead through the “Europaplatz” roundabout until you reach the “Universität” exit. In exceptional cases, you can obtain a campus entry permit for one day at the main gate of the university.
